For a group of 20 to 50 in Sharjah, booking a section of a restaurant is almost always cheaper than hiring a party hall and catering it. Twenty adults on the weekday buffet at Taier Al Monal is AED 840 of food with no room hire at all. Catering the same twenty off site runs into a AED 3,000 minimum order before you have paid for the hall.
People search for a party hall because it feels like the grown-up option. For most gatherings under about fifty it costs more and gives you more to organise, so it is worth doing the arithmetic before committing.
The restaurant route, priced

Twenty guests on a weeknight with decor, a cake and flowers comes to AED 1,340 all in, which is AED 67 a head including the food. Groups of twenty or more are seated in a reserved family section rather than a run of pushed-together tables.
The hall route, and where the cost sits
Hiring a hall splits the bill in two: the room, which you pay whatever the headcount, and the food, which you pay per head to a caterer. Our catering starts at AED 45 per person on the vegetarian menu, AED 65 on the Classic.
The catch at small sizes is the minimum. Outdoor catering has a floor of AED 3,000, which is about 67 guests on the AED 45 package or 47 on the AED 65 one. A party of twenty does not get near it, so you would be paying the minimum regardless of how little you actually eat, plus the hall on top.
Where the crossover sits
Somewhere around fifty to seventy guests the calculation flips. At that size you clear the catering minimum naturally, and a hall starts to make sense if you need a stage, a specific date the restaurant cannot hold, or a venue closer to your guests.
Below fifty, the restaurant wins on cost and on effort: one booking, one bill, no equipment hire, no setting up and no clearing afterwards.
What each option gives you
A hall gives control: your own timings, your own decorator, your own layout, and a room nobody else is sitting in. That matters for a wedding, an engagement with a stage, or anything where the room itself is part of the event.
A restaurant section gives simplicity: the kitchen is already there, the food arrives hot without transport, drinks are included in the buffet price, and nobody is stacking chairs at midnight. For a birthday, an anniversary, an aqiqah or a family dinner, that is usually the trade worth making.
