A birthday package at Taier Al Monal in Abu Shaghara, Sharjah costs AED 200 for wall decor, AED 150 to AED 300 for the cake depending on how many people are coming, and AED 100 for a flower bouquet. The buffet on top is AED 42 per guest on a weekday and AED 65 at the weekend, with water and soft drinks included. Those are the whole numbers, and there is nothing else added at the end.
Most restaurants in Sharjah will not tell you this until you call. We have put it in writing because the question people actually want answered before they walk in is not whether the biryani is good. It is what the evening is going to cost.
The three package tiers
The packages are set by minimum group size. Wall decor and the flower bouquet cost the same whatever the size of the party; only the cake scales, because a cake for thirty is a bigger cake than a cake for ten.
- Minimum 10 guests: wall decor AED 200, cake AED 150, flower bouquet AED 100
- Minimum 20 guests: wall decor AED 200, cake AED 200, flower bouquet AED 100
- Minimum 30 guests: wall decor AED 200, cake AED 300, flower bouquet AED 100
You do not have to take all three. Plenty of families book the decor and bring their own cake, or take the cake and skip the bouquet. The package is a menu, not a bundle you are locked into.
What the buffet adds
The food for a birthday group runs off the same buffet the restaurant serves every night. It is AED 42 per guest Monday to Thursday, and AED 65 per guest Friday to Sunday. Water and soft drinks are included in both, so there is no separate drinks bill at the end of the evening.
That weekday and weekend gap is the single biggest lever on your total. A group of twenty pays AED 840 for food on a Tuesday and AED 1,300 for the same group on a Saturday. If the date is flexible, moving the party to a weeknight saves more than the decor, cake and bouquet put together.
A worked example, so nothing is a surprise
Take twenty guests on a weekday. Wall decor at AED 200, the twenty-guest cake at AED 200, a bouquet at AED 100, and the buffet at AED 42 for twenty people, which is AED 840. The total is AED 1,340, which works out at AED 67 a head.
The same twenty guests on a Saturday: the same AED 500 of decor, cake and flowers, plus AED 1,300 of buffet, for AED 1,800 in total, or AED 90 a head.
Something counterintuitive falls out of these numbers. Because decor and the bouquet are fixed, the cost per person goes down as the group grows. Ten guests on a weekday works out at AED 87 each. Twenty comes to AED 67 each. Thirty comes to AED 62 each. A bigger party is cheaper per head, not dearer.
What the room is like
The restaurant sits opposite Nesto Hypermarket in Bu Shaghara, Hay Al Qasimiah. It is a gold-lit dining room with reserved family seating, a live tandoor and a dessert counter, and it scales comfortably from a table of four to a section holding a large family gathering.
The same setup is used for anniversaries, engagements, aqiqah and milad gatherings, and ordinary family get-togethers that happen to need a cake. Nothing about the package is specific to a birthday except the wall.
How to book
Send the date, the number of guests, and whether you want the decor, the cake and the bouquet. A few days of notice is usually enough for a table; for a reserved section for twenty or more, earlier is better so the wall can be set before you arrive.
